  3. Hi CrazyCris,

Came here via Rain's blog to see the video clip which is gorgeous.

It is lovely to see that nurturing the young has priority over destroying the young.

It is a great instinct which I think we all have.

    Have a good day.

    Love,
    Herrad

  4. Thanks for the visit!

Yeah, it's interesting to see that maternal instinct dominate over others! :o)

  5. Great post. I always find stories like that fascinating, but I find it annoying that the anchors keep saying the dog is having kittens for lunch like we're going to think they're feeding minced kitten to the dog as food or something...
I'm not that surprised that the dog is a lab mix, and I think that may have something to do with it. Labs are a very sweet breed of dog, and they're much smarter than dalmatians or other breeds which have been inbred to the point of retardation. They're sometimes used as aide dogs, too.

  6. Hey! Dalmatians aren't stupid!!! At least mine wasn't! :p Although it's true, she didn't have the most maternal instincts... once her pups started eating solids she didn't want to have anything to do with them...

But yeah, that "dog has kittens for lunch" I guess was their idea of an intriguing hook for people...

  7. Great video! These stories are always heartwarming. Our Dalmatian was brilliant. Smarter than most labs I've met.

  8. Ahhhh some dalmatian rehabilitation! ;o)

I have a big soft spot for that canine race... and not because of Disney... but because ours was the first pet I ever had and watched her grow, have two litters of pups, cross the Atlantic with us, and then die in Spain. She was wonderful!
