Blood-thirsty? ;o)

and speaking of books... have you ever read Dracula by Bram Stoker? If not you've got a chance to do so now in a rather unique format, via blog! One post per letter / diary entry (it's an epistolary novel) on the date it was written (so if journal entry is May 9th, then it will appear in a blog post on May 9th). If you have read it time for a re-visit?! ;o) It only started a week ago so there isn't too much catching up that needs to be done.
I found out about this via NeoLibrarium, and have just started reading (after taking a day to catch up). I know I've already read it, just can't remember when, so I'm thinking this is a cool way to rediscover the original vampire novel!

If you're interested, dig in!

"Experience Bram Stoker's Dracula in a new way -- in real time. Dracula is an epistolary novel (a novel written as a series of letters or diary entries,) and this blog will publish each diary entry on the day that it was written by the narrator so that the audience may experience the drama as the characters would have."

Hi CrazyCris! This is so neat! What a great idea. I'm definitely going to follow that Dracula blog because I've never read the book. I've seen the movie and I really liked it. Except I kept wanting to smack Keanu Reeves upside the head when he pronounced Beeyudapesht. I don't know, it bugged me coming from him!

  2. Lords, I think I must have seen the movie back around the time I read the book... don't remember enough of the details to remember Keanu Reeves' mispronunciations! :p
Maybe once this new "reading" of the novel is done I'll rent the movie for a comparison.

Always glad to share the curiosities that can be found in cyberspace!

Very cool! So when you do finally watch the movie again, think of me when Keanu misprounounces, lol!

  4. Sounds cool, but I'm struggling to get the books I have already started read. And more are on the way - waiting at the post office for pick up. But let us know down the road if they do this again. Thanks for the tip.

  5. The blogger's page mentions something about doing the same treatment for a couple other epistolary novels starting in the summer and fall!

But as for reading this one... it actually wouldn't take all that much time as the posts are pretty short. Probably a 15' a day kind of thing.

Getting books in the mail? Sounds like an Amazon delivery! I get those too! My local book-stores have a very limited selection in English and French, so I don't even bother with them anymore (unless I'm looking for a Spanish author or a gift for a friend)
