Revamping...

Well, what do you think? Like the new look and layout? I DO!!! :o)

I should have switched to the "Blogger in Draft" dashboard months ago! They've just made new templates available. A pretty wide variety that are very easy to change as much as you'd like! Not just background colours and fonts, but photos, number of columns, widths... Me likes!!!

I also discovered the new "pages" option that appear like tabs at the top of the blog. "Non-changing" pages that are there to welcome people (or whatever you want). Check them out and tell me what you think!

I've pretty much spent my Saturday afternoon fiddling with this... good thing to do on a dreary day when one is still stuck inside (I want to go to the movies!!!). This template made me think of Spring. Maybe I'll try out a different one for summer...

If you want to play with it for yourself go here:

Have fun!

  1. Hey! I found you over here from Nancy's "Life in the Second Half" and I see we follow a few of the same people. You are a very interesting person, Cris. Come over a visit me sometime. I notice we both chose the same new blogger template, you in green, me in lavender. We really make a good team!

  2. I love it! I hope you had your foot up during the process...

I want to do the pages tabs, too. Very cool! I have spent an enormous amount of time on this as well. Oh well, time for a new "do". It is almost spring, after all.

P.S. - You will love DJan!

  4. Hi DJan! Wow, same template, following the same blogs and a recommendation from Nancy... watch out 'cause I'm coming on over! ;o)

Nancy... I had it up most of the time... until my back complained and I had to change positions. :s It's incredible how much time you can spend fidgeting with these layouts, before I noticed it I had finished my after-lunch tea and was being called to dinner! :p

Glad you like guys like it! :o)

  7. Hey Vero! I had realised that you were YOU! :p

As for purple and yellow, there was no way I was going to design my blog to match my scary foot! C'est déjà assez effrayant de voir cette combinaison de couleurs sur moi! :p

Dive Girl, isn't it a lovely colour? I knew there was some reason I loved green (other than the fact it matches my eyes and goes great with my hair, lol!). ;o)

  8. So now that you know my whole life story, I'm going to browse around in here (your website). I think one of these days I'm going to make a bunch of tabs, too, but there just ain't enough time in my day! My eyes begin to fall out of my head when I've spent too much time in front of the monitor, also. But here goes (plunging in).

  9. Looks great! I'm tempted to change mine, but it took me so long to get it sorted and I like the way it looks now... I don't want to screw it up!

  10. Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't introduce you... DJan, this is Cris. Cris, DJan.

Cris, when you're on my side of the globe, can you please stop by and show me how to do the page thing? I haven't had time to play with it yet...

  11. Juliette, I already thought your layout was pretty cool with that image in the background... mine was just too plain and I'd really been wanting to spruce things up but didn't have time to figure out importing layouts or html or anything... so this is the perfect system for me! :o)

    Lily, don't worry, we've introduced ourselves! ;o)
As for the pages it's quite easy, but you have to click on your layout through the "blogger in draft" dashboard. From there go to "posting" and you'll see a subsection called PAGES (right after "new post" and "edit posts"). You write it up as if it were a blog post and tell blogger where you want it located. Easy as pie! ;o)

Otherwise... I'm afraid it might be a while before I'm in your neck of the woods... :s

  12. Thanks! :)
I might have a play over the summer when lectures are finished - those tab things at the top of the page could be handy, so I may, very cautiously, have a look at changing then.

Hey there! Yes you! The quiet one in the back... I'd love it if you hung out for a bit and shared your thoughts!

I might stop by your place with an answer, but I'm more likely to reply right here so click on "email follow up comments" if you'd like to see what I and others have to say and come continue the conversation! ;o)
