Alicante tumbleweed!

One of the weirdest things I've ever seen in Alicante - and see almost every year - is the local equivalent of tumbleweed rolling down the streets on a windy day! And today's example might be the biggest I've ever seen! Just weird...

  1. Not sure what to make of it. It certainly looks like tumbleweed but with the high rise apartments in the background it just looks quite weird.

    1. It's been extremely windy these past several days! But we can't complain, the rest of the country has been under constant rain or snow and we're still nice and dry! ;o)

  4. I would've thought that one of the weirdest things you'd see in Alicante would be pasty, portly British tourists, pickled on cheap booze?! Giant ass tumbleweeds would be a close second though! :)

  5. That is an unusual sight with the high rise behind it. A good catch for a photo.

    1. It's a good thing it was just me on an empty street, 'cause I stopped the car to take a photo with my cellphone through the windshield! :p

  7. I grew up in southern california. Walking home from school one day during strong Santa Ana winds, a tumbleweed that seemed to be the size of a Volkswagon Beetle chased me down the street for about 50 feet before the road turned and it blew off down into the canyon. I laugh about it now with my kids, but it was big! Felt like the giant stone that chases Indian Jones...
